Discover Tomorrow’s Tech Today: InnoEX and Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) Await With Exciting Opportunities!

Dive into the future of tech with these upcoming tech fairs in the heart of Hong Kong!

Technology’s rapid evolution is reshaping our world at an unprecedented pace, with artificial intelligence (AI), robotics and biotechnology leading the charge. These advancements are revolutionizing the way we live, work and interact with the world, offering new pathways for growth and innovation.

This April, Hong Kong becomes the focal point for technological progress, hosting over 3,000 tech pioneers from across the globe at the much-anticipated second edition of InnoEX and the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) (EFSE) 2024.

InnoEX, under its theme “Innovations for a Smarter World”, promises to unveil a future shaped by smart solutions and groundbreaking technology that bridges various disciplines. Meanwhile, EFSE 2024, known as the “World’s Leading Electronics Marketplace”, will showcase the latest in electronic innovation, with a special emphasis on products designed to enhance the well-being of the aging population.

Co-organized by the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), these events form the cornerstone of the Business of Innovation and Technology Week (BITWeek), a testament to Hong Kong’s dedication to fostering technological advancement.

As we prepare for this showcase of ingenuity, let’s offer you a preview of the cutting-edge exhibitors poised to dazzle at InnoEX and EFSE, presenting a future where technology knows no bounds.

1. The Chinese University of Hong Kong (InnoEX)

At InnoEX, the prestigious Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is set to showcase its E-COATING technology — an eco-friendly exterior wall cooling coating made from recycled glass. This innovative solution is redefining sustainable building standards by reducing heat absorption and enhancing natural cooling.

E-COATING is not only environmentally beneficial by repurposing waste glass, but it also increases energy efficiency. Buildings treated with this coating reflect solar radiation and emit thermal energy, thereby reducing the reliance on air conditioning, cutting energy costs and lowering greenhouse gas emissions. Its cost-effectiveness, using recycled materials to balance quality with affordability, makes sustainable living an achievable objective.

2. Airwood Technology Limited (EFSE)

Get ready to be “wowed” by Airwood Technology’s WOODWOW robots!

Made from FSC-certified wood, these 3D wooden robot kits are not only sustainable but designed for durability and minimal environmental impact. Each component is recyclable, blending eco-friendliness with technological innovation.

Despite their wooden structure, WOODWOW robots are robust, functioning as true robotic companions with flawless operation. The assembly is straightforward — no glue or screws needed — making it an ideal project for both individual hobbyists and group activities.

The WOODWOW collection features four unique modules: Chariot, Artillery, Soccer, and Tracked. Each model offers a range of activities, from engaging in soccer matches to launching water gel bullets, ensuring diverse fun and exploration. Moreover, WOODWOW robots are an educational platform, offering three levels of programming, from motion editing and programming learning to secondary development, making them a source of both entertainment and learning.
