Aria, Opera’s AI tool, introduces a new era of web browsing on iOS.
Opera’s AI-powered browser assistant, Aria, is now integrated into the Opera browser for iOS, completing its availability across major platforms. This development results from Opera’s partnership with OpenAI and provides users with an advanced AI service at no cost, complemented by Opera’s Composer framework that offers real-time web results. This integration proposes a fresh perspective on the evolution of web browsing.
Speaking on the development, Lin Song, co-CEO of Opera, noted the impressive adoption of Aria, with over a million users since its introduction. He highlighted the strong user response towards AI functionalities, prompting the rollout of the AI tool for iOS users.
Technical insights into Aria
Aria, built on Opera’s Composer infrastructure, taps into OpenAI’s GPT technology. It has the added advantage of fetching live web results, positioning itself as an adept assistant in web browsing and other browser-related tasks, like information sourcing, text/code generation and product queries.
Cross-platform availability and user control
Initially available on desktop versions and Android, Aria’s availability now includes all primary platforms: Mac, Windows, Linux, Android and iOS. Opera emphasizes user discretion in the AI experience; users decide their level of interaction with the AI services. On activation, Aria provides users with intelligent feedback, novel suggestions and voice command responsiveness.
