Citizen CZ Smart
Citizen “CZ Smart” is a line of smartwatches produced by the Japanese watch brand Citizen. This year at the biggest trade show Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the company unveiled a new CZ Smartwatch that measures wearers’ alertness and fatigue using artificial intelligence (AI) technology and research from space agency NASA and tech giant IBM.
The Citizen CZ watch has a key feature called the “Alert Score” generated by the Alert Monitor test in Citizen’s YouQ wellness app. The test is based on the Psychomotor Vigilance Test, a standard test used by NASA to evaluate the alertness of astronauts. The Alert Score generated by the watch can be used to understand and predict the user’s fatigue patterns and to provide personalized recommendations for improving their sleep patterns and overall well-being.
The model comes with a variety of features. It is compatible with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, enabling you to connect it to your smartphone and access various apps and features. In addition, the watch has an array of motion sensors to track your fitness and health data, such as heart rate and blood oxygen levels.
The company has released two models in the CZ Smart line—the CZ Smart Sport and the CZ Smart Casual. The CZ Smart Casual boasts a 41 mm stainless steel case in various color options including silver, gold and black. The watch also offers a variety of band options to choose from, including a rose gold mesh bracelet for a touch of elegance, a leather strap for a classic look and a sportier silicone strap for active wearers.
On the other hand, the CZ Smart Sport offers a bold and sporty look with its larger 44 mm case available in silver, black or a combination of silver/black, silver/blue or gold/black. The watch features a bold bezel around its 1.28-inch screen. The band options for the CZ Smart Sport include a perforated leather band for a unique look, a black and silver metal band for a sporty look, and a pair of silicone straps for comfortable wear.
The CZ Smart Casual smartwatch is available at US$350, while the CZ Smart Sport smartwatch comes at US$375. The prices for both smartwatches may vary depending on the color and strap combination you choose. Both smartwatches will be available for purchase in the U.S. starting March 2023 and are available for pre-order now.

Nowatch
Designed in Amsterdam and produced in Finland, Nowatch is a health tracker that looks like a watch but doesn’t have a screen. The dial is a replaceable stainless steel or natural gemstone disc that attaches to the stainless steel case via magnets. This makes it highly customizable, allowing you to change the look of the device to suit your style. The case is available in Gold, Silver and Rosé finishes, and buyers can choose from ten different gemstone and metal discs and more than a dozen leather straps or woven straps made from recycled ocean plastic. The wearable device is 37 mm in size, making it compact and easy to wear.
Nowatch focuses on tracking your mental and physical wellness data. The screen-less smartwatch can track various health and wellness metrics, such as stress level, heart rate and blood oxygen level. It can also be paired up with iOS or Android apps to track your sleep patterns and physical activities, like walking, running and biking. This information can help you set fitness goals and track your progress.
The smartwatch is waterproof and temperature-resistant, meaning it can withstand water exposure and various weather conditions. It has a 5 ATM water-resistant rating, which means it can handle pressure up to about 50 meters underwater, making it suitable for swimming. However, it is always a good idea to use a water-resistant strap, as it will provide added protection to the watch. It also claims to come with a long battery life that can last up to four days without charging, making it the perfect choice for young professionals on the go.
The smartwatch has a starting price of US$499. The company also offers subscription options, i.e., a three-year membership for US$6 per month, a one-year membership for US$9 per month or a monthly membership for US$12 per month.
