Hong Kong Smart Design Awards 2020’s Digital Awards Presentation Ceremony Premieres on August 5

Organised by The Hong Kong Exporters’ Association (HKEA) and sponsored by Create Hong Kong (CreateHK) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the design industry’s pinnacle event of the year – Hong Kong Smart Design Awards 2020 (HKSDA 2020) held its Digital Awards Presentation Ceremony (the Ceremony) with the full video of which to be premiered on August 5 on the HKSDA’s website and other social media channels.

The winner’ lists of the HKSDA 2020 were revealed in the Ceremony: of the nearly 500 entries in total received under the Corporate Group and Conceptual Group, 87 outstanding local designs from 74 companies and designer units came out on top. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ceremony went virtual, and the Gold Award winners were exclusively invited to the Ceremony to share the unique features of their award-winning products.

Ms. Jersey Yuen, Assistant Head of CreateHK, congratulated the winners of the HKSDA 2020 in a video and looks forward to their continual effort in fuelling the design industry’s competitiveness with their creativity and transforming Hong Kong into a product sourcing hub of Asia.

To recognise this year HKSDA’s exceptional awarded designs and equally exceptional designer awardees and to enhance public awareness of these designers’ success, the HKEA has edited a 90-second video of the Ceremony’s highlights to be showcased on the outdoor mega TV screen at Times Square on August 3. The full, 30-minute version will be posted onto the HKSDA’s social media channels on August 5 for the general public and practitioners in relevant industries to also revel in the joys of the design industry’s pinnacle event of the year.
