The latest funding brings AlphaSense’s valuation to US$2.5 billion.
AlphaSense, a New York-based market intelligence and search platform, has successfully completed a Series E financing round, securing US$150 million. The funding round was led by venture capital firm BOND, also drew financial contribution from previous investors like CapitalG (an Alphabet affiliate), Viking Global Investors, Goldman Sachs. With this capital injection, AlphaSense’s valuation escalates to US$2.5 billion.
BOND’s Jay Simons emphasized their investment strategy revolves around identifying and backing technology companies shaping future landscapes. AlphaSense, he noted, has demonstrated its adept capacity to provide businesses with pivotal insights and data essential for strategic decision-making processes, positioning it as an emergent icon that substantively redefines operational modalities in the business realm.

New investor on board: BAM Elevate

BAM Elevate, a private investment team under Balyasny Asset Management’s umbrella and a client of AlphaSense since 2015, also opted to invest in this round. Norman Chen from BAM Elevate highlighted that the platform’s prowess in swiftly and reliably surfacing pertinent information through its AI and search technology has significantly enriched their investment process, underscoring why they opted to solidify their financial belief in the platform’s promising trajectory.

The Series E funding round comes on the heels of a US$100 million Series D investment in April 2023 led by Alphabet’s CapitalG. The newly acquired funds will be used to advance the expansion of AlphaSense’s enterprise solution. The platform aims to augment its revolutionary AI search capabilities and further enhance its suite of offerings with purpose-built market intelligence, financial large language models (LLMs) and GenAI capabilities, ensuring they are securely housed within customers’ private clouds.
Additionally, the raised funds will facilitate the expansion of AlphaSense’s comprehensive collection of searchable business content and strategic acquisitions to enhance its platform capabilities.
