The project aims to optimize rail logistics and reduce costs with AI-powered solutions.
Bourque Logistics, a prominent player in North American industrial logistics systems with a history spanning over 35 years, has announced its latest initiative, the RAILTRAC.ai™ project. This innovative venture aims to develop advanced tools and capabilities specifically for its customers in vital areas such as railcar repair and compliance, rail shipment management and switch, load and shipping operations.
The RAILTRAC.ai project is a response to the changing demands of North American rail shippers, aiming to enhance operational efficiencies across Bourque’s existing systems like RAILTRAC®, YardMaster®, RAILAcct®, among others. The integration of AI and automated functions is expected to optimize day-to-day rail operations and improve decision-making processes. This technological advancement is designed to assist fleet managers in streamlining rail shipment processes, cutting costs and boosting overall productivity.
Core areas of focus for RAILTRAC.ai™
RAILTRAC.ai™ is set to transform various aspects of rail logistics:
- Rail shipment management: The project will provide tools to simplify shipment control processes and proactively identify potential delays. This includes intervention support with railroad operators to minimize disruptions.
- Switch and load optimization: By enhancing facility operations, RAILTRAC.ai aims to maximize efficiency and reduce idle time, thereby improving asset utilization and lowering operational costs for loading facilities.
- Railcar repair and compliance: Collaborating with Industrial Networks LLC, the project will also focus on rail maintenance, including repair management and regulatory compliance. The AI functionality incorporated through INetRail™ Repair Shop Solution is expected to benefit both railcar owners and maintenance facilities.
Steve Bourque, President of Bourque Logistics, emphasized that RAILTRAC.ai represents the team’s commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions. “We are leveraging our deep expertise in rail logistics with the power of artificial intelligence. Our goal is to develop tools that streamline and help our customers manage their rail operations,” he stated.
The collaborative effort between Bourque Logistics and Industrial Networks LLC (INet) is crucial in shaping the RAILTRAC.ai technology. Their combined efforts are expected to particularly address the maintenance and compliance needs within the railcar sector, marking a significant development in the integration of AI technology in rail logistics.
