Signos Secures US$20M Funding for AI-Driven Metabolic Health Management

The funding will support Signos’ efforts to combat obesity, expand its health platform and further research.

In an effort to combat the increasing rates of obesity and metabolic disorders in the United States, Signos, a San Francisco-based metabolic health platform, has secured US$20 million in its latest Series B funding round. Anchored by investment from Cheyenne Ventures and GV (formerly Google Ventures), the venture capital arm of Alphabet Inc., as well as contributions from Dexcom Ventures and Samsung Next, the funding aims to bolster the company’s growth and further metabolic health research.

With over 96 million Americans pre-diabetic and diabetes projected to affect one billion people globally by 2050, Signos is advancing its AI-powered health platform to address these pressing issues. This platform is tailored to intercept the progression of prediabetes and diabetes and support weight management efforts through early detection and lifestyle interventions.

Tackling metabolic health challenges

Signos combines a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) with an AI engine to deliver real-time insights for weight management and metabolic health. The platform’s expansion, supported by this latest funding, will focus on enhancing the company’s capabilities and extending its services, which now include support for individuals with Type 2 diabetes.

Innovative approach to metabolic monitoring

The Signos app allows users to input dietary and exercise data, enabling the AI to tailor recommendations to each individual’s metabolic response. This personalized approach is the cornerstone of Signos’s strategy to guide users through their numerous daily food choices with the aim of improving overall health.

â€śSleep, stress, exercise and diet all influence how high and sustained one’s glucose spikes can be. We often don’t realize that people make around 227 food-related decisions a day,” explains Sharam Fouladgar-Mercer, CEO of Signos. “By providing glucose visibility, tracking and AI-driven proactive suggestions, Signos can help you navigate those choices for better health.”

Data-driven health management

Emphasizing the importance of data in health management, Jay Fulcher, Managing Partner at Cheyenne Ventures, commends Signos for its role in reshaping personal health maintenance. By employing a measurable approach to health, Signos is set to offer durable, impactful health outcomes for a wide demographic.

The recent financial boost for Signos underscores an active commitment to combating the ever-increasing challenge of obesity and diabetes. It underscores a forward-thinking movement to ensure the proliferation of practical, data-informed solutions that enhance metabolic health nationwide.
