Vandra — A Swedish, Safe & Smart Backpack by Casten Design

Vandra, famously compact and anti-theft is a backpack designed specifically to take on the role of a personal assistant and trusted companion in your everyday life. Fashioned complete with a modern look and a timeless essence, the look of Vandra was inspired by the harsh Nordic climate of Stockholm, which also happens to be the origin of its founder, Gustaf Casten Bergendal.

Whilst the design of Vandra is of European influence, the journey of Casten Design, the brainchild of Gustaf, had, in fact commenced in the buzzing city of Hong Kong. Like many startups, Casten Design enrolled with crowdfunding platform, Kickstarter and had managed to garner great success — exceeding its campaign goal by 174%. Ever since then, Casten Design has been on a roll; investing efforts into social media & digital marketing strategies, engaging Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) of various markets, and tirelessly working towards creating bigger, better, and more innovative products.

Casten Design has recently opened its international headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden in the past month. The company has since rolled out a new edition of Vandra, called Vandra Plus. Resembling a lot like its predecessor, the Vandra Plus hosts a larger capacity enabling users larger storage space to store their 15-inch laptops and other accessories. An all-black edition of Vandra is also scheduled to be launched by the end of September 2017 and a Vandra Business edition before the Christmas of 2017.

After much promotion, marketing efforts, and reviews of customers, Vandra has undoubtedly proven to be a great backpack and partner boasting of a large variety of features with the mission to protect and accommodate the needs of urbanites around the world. Just a quick list of the many features of Vandra:

From the days as a startup with one simple idea, Casten Design is now ready to make its mark in the Fashion-Tech industry with offices in both Europe and Asia.

‘Believe in yourself and your product, listen, learn, set realistic targets and be driven by passion. It’s stressful to run a startup, but this will not have any negative influence on your life if you love what you do, therefore I started Casten Design. It can be stressful, challenging, and does not always pay my bills but I love what we do and it’s rewarding to get positive feedback from our community.’ -Gustaf Casten Bergendal, Founder of Casten Design
