[Press Release] Manoeuvres in Senior Leadership Positions TAIGER for Growth

Manoeuvres in Senior Leadership Positions TAIGER for Growth

16 October 2020, Singapore: AI startup TAIGER announced a strategic reorganisation of senior leadership positions to strengthen its business growth strategy. Headlining the change is the appointment of David Padgett to the role of Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) as of 1st October. The new position entails ownership of all commercial activities and the management of TAIGER’s Sales, Marketing, Technical Sales and Business Development divisions. David will work alongside CEO and Founder Sinuhé Arroyo in TAIGER’s headquarters based in Singapore.

David holds over 25 years of experience in Sales Leadership and Business Management, with a proven track record of establishing and managing new business ventures. Prior to this new appointment, he served as the Regional Vice President in APAC for Anaplan Inc, a leading B2B software company specialising in cloud-based business modelling platform to drive enterprise performance—much akin to TAIGER’s mission. David’s extensive career track also includes management roles in similar established tech companies where he led initiatives with go-to-market (GTM) strategy, global account management, solutions selling and coached commercial teams for success.

“I am honoured to journey with TAIGER as we strive for accelerated growth in the next few years and build a strong presence all over the world. Sinuhé and his leadership team don’t just have an inspiring vision for TAIGER but also the right people to realise that vision. TAIGER’s impressive achievements since inception are testament to the strong culture and the capabilities of the team. This is a wonderful foundation on which we can build on,” said David.

Since its founding in 2009, the startup has transformed knowledge-intensive operations of global businesses such as Banco Santander, Otkritie Bank, and government agencies including the Ministry of Manpower and Defence Science and Technology Agency in Singapore. It has streamlined its comprehensive offering of complex-process automation solutions and solidified market leadership in Natural Language Technology. The new CCO appointment is both a marker of TAIGER’s technological maturity and a prudent advancement into explicit steps to reinforce a customer-centric and commercial focus.

“Creating and filling this CCO seat with David is a critical chess move in TAIGER’s growth strategy”, said Sinuhé. “The TAIGER team is excited to work with him as the single point of leadership driving alignment and integrating all our front-facing commercial activities. David will serve as the collective voice of our customers and I’m confident that his contribution will be a launchpad into greater customer success and growth.”

Accompanying this milestone is further leadership changes in senior management. In the CEO Office, Kevin Quah has taken on the new role of Director of Growth after having served as the Head of Technical Sales in the past four years. Kevin will retain part of his current responsibilities overseeing Technical Sales while increasing his focus on Legal and Compliance alongside organisational initiatives such as strategy, performance and investor relations support through the CEO Office. Jonathan Seetoh takes over Kevin as Head of Technical Sales for TAIGER. Jonathan will report directly to David and be part of the newly formed Commercial Organisation.

“This is a big change in how TAIGER has traditionally structured its commercial teams and we are very excited to have David’s leadership on this key function. At the same time, we are very excited to see Jonathan and Kevin take on more responsibility and progress in their careers within TAIGER,” said Sinuhé.

What Does Gen-Z Want in a Career?

Most managers feel that Gen-Z is “difficult to work with”, entitled and easily offended. The prevalent notion is that this generation is prone to distraction, lacks tech skills and is deficient in productivity and motivation. They want to butt heads, have their say and not listen. Harsh, yes. These studies perhaps ignore that most of the Gen-Z workforce graduated and entered the workforce during COVID-19.

Beyond Pink and Blue: The Movement Towards Gender-Inclusive Toys

Before gifting that pink kitchen set for a girl or the transformer for a boy, pause for a moment. Historically, the toy industry has thrived on perpetuating gender stereotypes. As the French essayist and critic, Roland Barthes, expressed, toys are essentially a “microcosm of the adult world”, reflecting societal views.
