We are delighted to share that Accelerating Asia, an early-stage venture fund and award-winning accelerator headquartered in Singapore, has launched Angel360. Angel360 is a new virtual angel investing programme, designed to provide more development opportunities for Southeast Asia’s angel investors. The launch of Angel360 will extend Accelerating Asia’s existing reach in contributing to establishing Southeast Asia and South Asia as leading global startup ecosystems, including at an earlier stage.
While late stage investment rounds focus on startups with a well-known product and market presence, in order to build a holistic and developed entrepreneurship ecosystem, ongoing support and investment at the early stages are needed. Angel investors are critical to support early-stage founders and develop robust and healthy startup ecosystems across the region. Further research has indicated that ventures backed by angel investors are more likely to remain in business longer, acquire substantial growth, and witness a higher rate of return on investments. Supporting more great angel investors with the tools, networks, and resources is a crucial driver behind the creation of Angel360.
Accelerating Asia is pleased to collaborate with ecosystem partners – Angel Hub, Bangladesh Angels Network, Draper Startup House, Phandeeyar and ANGIN. The Accelerating Asia team is bringing together the region’s active angel investors who have been involved in over 150 deals and over ten exits to lead Angel360 including:
● Craig Bristol Dixon, General Partner, Accelerating Asia, experienced Angel Investor and Founder with an exit to Rakuten
● Amra Naidoo, General Partner, Accelerating Asia and APAC Lead Shaper Impact Capital
● Wei Qing Jen, CEO & Co-Founder Vybes (Sequoia backed), Angel Investor with exits, ex McKinsey/Temasek
● Jenn Villalobos, Angel investor and startup mentor, former Google & YouTube
Designed to deliver angel investors actionable insights and information to put into practice instantly, Angel360 covers key topics including sourcing startups, determining valuations, managing a portfolio, negotiating terms and establishing a reputation as a leading angel. Aspiring angel investors will gain access to live workshops with a topic expert including a Q&A session. Accelerating Asia will also donate 5 percent of all programme fees to Advisory, a fully youth-led non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering young Singaporeans to make informed career and education choices.
Angel360 is slated to commence on 17 November 2020. For more information on enrolment, please visit acceleratingasia.com.
