Famsy, a T-shirt and Merchandise Print-on-Demand Platform Raised RM 600K to Disrupt the Custom Apparel Print Industry
– Famsy is disrupting the custom apparel print industry, serving over 23,000 users and achieving a multi-million dollar revenue figure in under 2 years
Kuala Lumpur, 10th July 2019 – Famsy, a print-on-demand t-shirt and merchandise platform, has managed to raise a total of RM 600,000 in seed funding from Commerce DotAsia Ventures Sdn Bhd’s to fulfill all types of customization needs while providing entrepreneurial spirits the opportunity to design and market their very own apparel collection through FamsyMall and FamsyStores respectively.
FamsyMall is an online apparel marketplace which allows customers to personalise their own apparel and gifts, while FamsyStores is an A-Z fulfilment platform which helps businesses and entrepreneurs build their own t-shirt and merchandise brand online via Famsy’s proprietary web app.
In today’s retail market, there is a noticeable shift in trend towards fashionable custom apparel. This is attributed, in part, to the rise in the global demand for custom t-shirt printing. According to a market analysis by Credence Research Inc, the global market for custom t-shirt printing industry is expected to cross US$ 10 billion by 2025 at a CAGR of 6.3% through the forecast period 2017 to 2025. However, while custom apparel on-demand printing is ubiquitous in countries like the United States and United Kingdom, this concept is still relatively unknown in South East Asia. Current apparel printers in South East Asia are simply not ready to handle unique custom prints processed in bulk in a cost efficient manner.
To cater for this growing demand, Famsy aims to lead the custom t-shirt printing trend in South East Asia by integrating technology innovations to a traditional t-shirt print process, making customizable printing faster, more efficient and hassle-free while maintaining competitive pricing. For business owners, FamsyStores’ web app enables users the ability to create fully integrated t-shirt selling websites within a day. For end users, FamsyMall allows affordable, fully customized prints without any minimum order.
“On demand customisation is a trend that is here to stay. We want to give Malaysians the opportunity to create fully customised t-shirts either for themselves, or as a business by creating their own merchandise brand. We differentiate by providing fully integrated systems for a better user experience, and you no longer need to buy t-shirts in bulk to get affordable pricing.” said CEO and Founder, Ms. Fong Chai Lee
Famsy Enables Faster Order Fulfilment Through Advanced Custom Developed Technology
Over the years, fashion trends have been evolving and industry players have been taking its dynamic nature into consideration, paying close attention to the demand for high quality prints and shorter production cycles. According to The Swiss Times, the never-ending innovations in the printing technology for lessening production cycles and cost is likely to uphold the growth of the t-shirt printing machine market Furthermore, the trend towards shorter fulfilment cycles is a result of society’s expectations to order something online and to get it in as short a time as possible. Because of this, retailers have to respond to their customers’ demands efficiently and accurately without compromising their cost per production cycle.
Famsy’s Direct-to-Garment (DTG) printers
Famsy’s custom developed technology enables its print operators to fulfill more orders than others, in half the time. This shortened production cycle allows Famsy to deliver the finished product to customers faster, thus ensuring that people receive their items as soon as possible after placing an order.
Moreover, by optimizing each production cycle, Famsy can offer on-demand printing services. Customers will be able to order as many or as few customized merchandise as they wish from FamsyMall. Furthermore, the technology takes away the hassle of stock management and stock count from the business owners on FamsyStores. This prevents overproduction or wasted stock.
“Whether you  are a customer or a business owner on our platform, we have the tools to help you. At the end of the day, we aim to empower people who visit our platform through creativity while ensuring that everyone receives their unique orders quickly,” adds Ms. Fong Chai Lee.
Founded by partners Fong Chai Lee and Chai Yee Lyn, Famsy has served more than 23,000 customers and achieved a multi-million dollar revenue figure in under 2 years. The company addresses a growing market demand for customized merchandise while disrupting the industry by taking things one step further in empowering business-minded individuals because the platform helps them start their own t-shirt business.
