CAROUSELL DRIVES INTEGRATION WITH APPOINTMENT OF HEAD OF PEOPLE
New senior appointment, Jennifer Lim, to lead company’s people operations in steering growth and transformation across the region

Singapore, 11 February 2020 – Carousell, one of the world’s largest and fastest growing classifieds, today announced the appointment of Jennifer Lim as Head of People. Jennifer will be responsible for operational excellence and talent strategy for the rapidly scaling organisation.

Jennifer’s appointment follows Carousell’s recent merger with 701Search, which solidified its online classifieds leadership in Southeast Asia, and one of the largest globally. As the company continues its focus on accelerating growth, Jennifer will lead efforts in scaling as a high performing organisation, in addition to leveraging her experience with M&A integrations to harmonise operations and company culture, across Carousell Group.

“Today, we’re privileged with the opportunity to serve tens of millions of users across 8 markets. We’re at a stage where we can really redefine e-commerce in a meaningful way, address overconsumption and make second-hand the first choice. One of our greatest strengths now is having a passionate and talented team of over 750 who are deeply committed to our mission. With Jennifer’s extensive experience in scaling talent, engagement and synergy across complex global organisations, we can focus on realising the full potential of our people, and reimagining classifieds for our users,” said Siu Rui Quek, Carousell Co-founder and CEO.

Previously Chief People Officer at Video-on-Demand service HOOQ, and Human Resources Director, APAC at Nike, Jennifer brings over twenty years of expertise in organisational development, talent acquisition and change management. Jennifer was instrumental in building the HOOQ’s leadership team as they launched HOOQ in the region and optimising their talent strength to set up its Creative Center in Manila and Engineering Hub in Bandung. At Nike, she led numerous complex organisational transformation efforts to support Nike’s growth objectives for their APAC Apparel office based out of Hong Kong, almost doubling their revenue over five years.

Jennifer will be overseeing all People strategy and operations in Carousell and she reports to Co-founder and CEO, Siu Rui Quek.

“I admire the humility of the founding team, their hunger to excel and commitment to their mission. Apart from the founders, Carousell has an amazing slate of highly collaborative and diverse leaders with a wealth of experience and aligned vision. I resonate very well with their tenacity, and I’m really looking forward to engaging the spirited team at Carousell to reach their full potential and support the company’s business priorities,” said Jennifer.
